Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is a super cute spot located on Rose Avenue in Venice. We know everyone is familiar with the famous Salt & Straw, an ice cream shop located in Venice on Abbot Kinney. But believe us Jeni's is just as delicious and you won't have to wait in a line for 30 minutes (or more). Also, Rose Avenue is a cute street to explore while indulging on your ice cream. The street is unassuming, but has some amazing restaurants buzzing with locals and totally worth a visit especially if you need a break from walking around Abbot Kinney.
Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams is an artisan ice cream company known for its unique flavors (i.e. Watermelon Buttermilk Yogurt, Cream Puff and Brown Butter Almond Brittle). The ice cream is absolutely delicious and curated from a variety of ingredients from local farms throughout the world. There were so many appealing ice cream flavors so of course we seriously struggled to make a decision as to which ones we wanted. So we finally decided to test out their most popular flavor … Brambleberry Crisp! I mean wow, it actually tastes like a berry pie. We were so impressed by the quality of this ice cream and honestly a bit shocked that we had never heard of this place before. #UNDERRATEDALERT
Although there were no glaring negatives to this spot. Let's just say that waiting in a line for people to sample every flavor is so freaking annoying. I mean you know if the flavor is appealing to you or not. So please don’t go and sample an entire ice cream without even ordering one yet. Also, the ice cream is a bit expensive; it's $5.50 for one scoop. But hey, you get what you pay for (sometimes).
Needless to say, we will be giving this place another visit very soon regardless of its effects on our summer beach body. And you too should pay this place a visit too when you're in the Venice Beach area. The ice cream is so delicious and definitely worth all those extra calories.
Excuse me while I stuff my face ... believe me it is THAT GOOD!
