Who knew tea rooms were trendy? We always thought they were just for snooty, uptight people looking to sip some flavorless tea and eat dry scones. That was until we went to Alfred Tea Room located in West Hollywood. Alfred is definitely a revived, stylish tea room catering particularly to millennials (regardless of if they are tea lovers or not).

- AESTHETIC -

There's a reason every young person in LA takes a photo at Alfred Tea Room ... it's super stylish and perfect for the IG. The tea room has an updated, chic retro vibe featuring pink tiled walls and accented with floral arrangements, neon signs and greenery. Every single square foot of this small room is decorated to perfection; there are lip print napkins, pink floral and cactus printed cups, colorful straws and kitschy wall sayings. The outside of the tea room is understated but just as photo ready as the interior. It's also pink tiled with various quotes written on the wall like "I love you so Matcha" & "Can't we all just get oolong."

- TEA AND FOOD -

Okay, lets talk about the menu which is very simple. It's just tea, tea and more tea. If your looking for coffee, just walk around the corner to Alfred Coffee. As for the tea options we’re talking different types of matcha, fine teas, tea lattes and milk tea with boba. Our personal favorites include the matcha, rose, and chai milk tea. To be honest, we are not really tea drinkers, but the tea is absolutely amazing and can easily be jazzed up with some milk and boba. There are also a few healthy food alternatives at this spot just in case you crave something other than tea. We love the chia seed yogurt parfait and vegan puddings.

- THE NEGATIVES - Good luck finding parking. This prime spot in the Melrose District makes parking an absolute b****. Now for millennials, I would consider the fact that they only accept card for payment to be a positive (I mean when do I ever carry cash? Never ... & probably not a good thing). However, I can understand this can be annoying if your someone who likes to use cash and wasn't expecting this prior to ordering a tea. And lastly, this tea comes at a steep price - milk tea with boba is $5.50. I mean its LA what do you expect. And yes, we will whine about the prices, but we still pay it because what else is there to do in LA, but drink tea, walk around and take a few pics!
