We are super excited to be talking about the newly opened Adults Only Bar. This racy and fun nightlife venue is tucked away in a Hollywood Strip mall. This speakeasy-style bar exceeded our expectations, still resembling a high-end Hollywood nightlife venue while offering a little splash of trash!
- AESTHETIC-
We are seriously obsessed with the fact that Adults Only is tucked away in a seedy Hollywood strip mall... as sketchy as it may seem. Yes, Burger King is in the same plaza. So you can guess where we were thinking of going after a night of drink. I mean how random, yet such a fun idea to put a bar in a strip mall, further playing up the racy, speakeasy vibe. This spot has a fun aesthetic, definitely making it a spot for mature eyes only. Upon entering, a pink neon sign illuminates a corridor decorated by an eclectic collection of racy VHS tapes, movie posters, and more. You are immediately transported into a 90s adult video store. But this isn’t the only surprise. We expected to enter the bar via the curtains in the back of the corridor, however what we saw next shocked us just a bit! (I mean maybe we shouldn’t have been that shocked. It is called Adults Only.) There is a small room you enter separating the main entrance from the bar, displaying some x-rated media content. There are naked a** women all over the wall and yes another surprise playing on the vintage TV behind you, but we won't spoil that one for you. If you can handle standing in this room for some time, it's seriously perfect for pictures. I mean sure the backdrop will be nude women but the lighting is too perfect to pass up. In regards to the actual bar area, we were expecting it be a little more risqué and unique. It carries a much different aesthetic than the entrance does. It's basically a multi-level large dark room with several high-top tables and a movie playing on a projector on the lower level and a pool room on the second level.
- CROWD -
Crowd is EVERYTHING in Los Angeles and right away we knew this was not going to be our favorite aspect of the place. Please note that this is obviously a local hangout where people come with a group of friends. Is this a place to meet your next bf/gf? Probably not but tbh there are still some really awesome people here that you can mingle with. If you're into pool and looking for a more laidback chill night this is probably the spot for you. People are not super concerned with what they look like and strictly there to hang with friends and listen to some absolutely amazing music. Adults Only actually describes themselves on their website (here) as a spot where “one can create their own experience in an elegant, yet pretentions environment.” This says a lot about the overall crowd of people you see. Even though we didn’t particularly care for the lack of care of one's appearance, you can tell the people you meet are genuine (something a lot of spots lack in LA).

Okay so everyone knows the price of drinking at bars in LA are usually quite expensive. We were actually surprised to see that a specialty cocktail was only about $12. I mean we each asked the bar tender to make us our own special concoction (something sweet with tequila) and it was still only 12 bucks and absolutely amazing. The specialty drinks are definitely first class - not watered down or too boozy.

LISTEN UP EVERYONE! Even if you read the first few sections of this post and aren’t convinced you want to go here, you should try it out strictly for one reason – THE MUSIC! Personally, best music we have heard out in Los Angeles. Yes, this is a personal preference. But we love some relevant remixed music from the early 90s to early 2000s.
Overall, we would totally go back to Adults Only, mainly because we loved the provocative entrance and the music. This is a great spot to check out to kick off your night and set the mood with some amazing music. The crowd was mehhh but honestly not a deterrent from us going back. Bring your group of friends here or try to mingle with the eclectic crowd of people, while enjoying the sight of some nude photos and racy video footage.
